Still looking for a Board secretary....
The CEC Board Secretary, Pat Corey, has formally resigned from the position of Secretary for personal reasons but will remain an active participant on the Board. So we are now in need of a CEC member to step forward & assume the role of CEC Secretary. The following are the minimum requirements:
1. Have been a CEC member for at least one year in order to qualify as a Board member. However, if one has been a member for less than one year, this would be okay but the position would not be ‘official’ until the 1 year anniversary date.
2. Have proficient organizational & management skills and is willing to be timely in executing their duties as Secretary.
3. Have a recent model laptop or desktop computer loaded with MS Office.
4. Proficient at being able to work on the Internet, downloading/uploading files, etc.
5. Possess proficient skills at using Word & Excel programs & possibly Powerpoint.
6. Prepare Board agendas and meeting minutes using Word, and distribute them in a timely fashion to Board members by uploading into CEC's cloud-based enterprise management system (xero.com).
7. Maintain the current membership database in Excel.
8. Filing and maintaining paper membership applications in the existing notebook.
We are hoping to bring someone on board that has had previous experience at being a club secretary or had a career as a secretary being familiar with the typical responsibilities, but will consider anyone interested in helping out in this important position. The Board meets every 4 - 6 weeks.
We have drafted a ‘Duties of the Secretary’ review & will make it available when considering taking on this position. We fervently hope to have someone selected & approved within the next month. If interested email: ryldar@gmail.com

The UK Electoral Commission is advising UK expats to register sooner than later so they can be sure they are registered in time. Expats can now register online to vote in just a few minutes at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
At the 2015 General Election there were almost 106,000 overseas electors on the register. This is a fraction of the 5.5 million UK citizens estimated to be living overseas, and potentially eligible to vote at the EU Referendum.
To register as an overseas voter, UK residents overseas must have previously been registered in a UK constituency within the last 15 years. Once registered, overseas voters can then choose how they wish to vote. They can vote by post, by proxy (voting by appointing someone you trust to vote on your behalf), or even in person at their polling station if they will be in their local authority area on polling day.
It should be easier to vote by post for this referendum as the timetable for postal votes has been extended to allow postal votes to be sent out even earlier than usual, giving overseas voters further time to receive, complete, and return their ballot back to the UK.
UK Expats can now register online to vote at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

“If you are a foreigner staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90 [consecutive] days holding a Non-Immigrant Visa, you are required by Thai Immigration to report your current address every 90 days.” - Thailand Immigration Bureau
How to report? There are currently four choices:
* Notification in Person - at the Immigration Promenada Office (cost of personal time). One family member can do this for the entire family (other members need not be present). When you line up, be sure to get a separate queue number for each family member for whom you are making a report.
* Online reporting - free, but you can only use after you have made at least one 90-day report since your most recent entry into Thailand (so Immigration will have copies of your supporting documentation and record in their database). Click here for detailed instructions.
* Registered Mail - small cost of registered postage and time to copy forms and mail. Click here for details about how to report by post.
* Visa Service Provider such as CEC Sponsor OS Thai Visa.
